Three days in Vegas

Every year about this time, racers ranging from grade school kids competing on 50cc minibikes to the fastest professional stars on dirt and asphalt all converge on Las Vegas to recognize the champions and achievements of the year just past.

And naturally, you can't get that many racers together in one place and not have a race. That's why there's the Saturday night Maxxis EnduroCross to provide some top-level racing entertainment in between Friday's AMA Sports banquet honoring top amateur racers and others, and Sunday's AMA Pro banquet.

We'll have coverage of all three events live from Las Vegas all weekend, culminating with the announcement of the winner of the 2007 AMA SPEED Athlete of the Year award. The nominees are Mark Burkhart, Ken Coolbeth, Josh Hayes, Ben Spies, and Ryan Villopoto.
