Supercross riders get first look at track

The Daytona Supercross by Honda typically features a longer, more demanding track than the other stops on the Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross Series circuit. This year is no exception, taking up most of the green space between the Speedway's front straight and the Fan Zone on the infield.

Other than a couple long whoop sections, the track has several 180-degree hairpins and some unique obstacles that will make line choice critical.

The track walk has just wrapped up, and the first group of SX Lites riders is just heading out onto the track for practice.

At 1:30 p.m., the seeded Supercross riders will hit the track, followed by non-seeded Supercross riders and then some track maintanence.

Between 2:50 and 4:45, there will be more practice sessions, and then some more track maintenance before the opening ceremonies at 7 p.m.

The SX Lites heats will go first, followed by the SX heats at about 7:35 p.m. Two last-chance qualifiers--one for each class--will be run to give riders one last chance to make the big show.

At 8:40, the SX Lites main event will go down, immediately followed by the SX class.

Stay tuned!

You can't mistake Daytona--it's like no other Supercross on the scedule.
