He's here -- How come you're not?

Think it's too much of a hassle to come down to Bike Week? Weather between you and here not looking that great? Figure you'll take a pass on the greatest week in motorcycling?

Then don't talk to John Hyatt. He'll make you feel like a big sissy for staying away.

Hyatt, a parapalegic who rides a Harley-Davidson sidecar rig, not only made the two-day trek from his home in Beckley, West Virginia, to Daytona Beach, but he also had to overcome the elements. The hardest part? The distance from his garage to the street.

"We had 6 inches of snow on the ground," he says, leaning back and holding court on Main Street. "I had to get pushed out through all that to the street, and I'll tell you, when we hit pavement, we were GONE."

So, really. What are you waiting for? Pack up your stuff. Get on your bike. Hit the road. You'll be glad you did.
