Superbike pits fill in

New paint, new bikes and new sponsors highlight Daytona's pit row as teams set up for the kickoff of the AMA Superbike season with practice tomorrow morning.

The Yamaha mechanics are getting Jason DiSalvo’s and Eric Bostrom’s Formula Xtreme R6s ready for the Daytona 200. Wanna bet the first item on their to-do list has to do with spinning some rubber onto these wheels?

Over in the team Jordan pits, the crew is setting up the GSXR of Jake Holden, who joins Jason Pridmore and Steve Rapp. The new gold-and-black paint scheme is smokin’ hot. Created by Nike’s Mark Smith, who designs Jordan’s shoes, it’s complete with typical Jordan imagery, like this spiritual-inspired icon under the tail section.

The Ducati team’s new look has more to do with new support than spirituality. New team member Ben Bostrom’s racebike looks good with its Parts Unlimited paint (and the team appreciates the extra backing, as well).

Fill 'em up: The Yamaha team needs a lot of tires.

The new Team Jordan paint scheme (above and below) features shimmering gold and gloss black. We're told the symbol under the seat has spiritual meaning.

No. 155 on the Parts Unlimited Ducati—yeah, Ben's back.
