The most beautiful place to live and ride in the fall is The Upper Peninsula of Michigan along Lake Superior when the trees are turning and M-117 from Mackinaw City to Petoskey Through the "Tunnel of Trees" in the Lower Penisula of Michigan.

Don Fraser, 61, Garden City, Michigan, 1942 H-D WLA, 2005 H-D Ultra

Im not sure what the best place is to ride, but I know that anywhere, even the NY city area can be a joy to ride in the early morning hours when few cars are on the road. Early am crossing the NYC bridges is pretty cool.

anywhere you can ride, but I prefer the USA. No passport or translator or guide required.

Nick Puluso, 67, Wayne, N.J., '05 Honda VTX 1300 & '06 Honda 1100 S

Los Angeles, CA. Hey, laugh all you want, but if you can stay alive on the roads here, then you can fully enjoy just about everywhere else as being an easy ride. All beginning riders should spend a few weeks here in the first 6 months they are riding. You'll appreciate any other roads (and traffic) once you've ridden in LA. (Same holds true for learning to drive a car, but in New York...)

Gregg, 35, Levittown, NY, 2002 Star Custom 650

Yes I'll say it! Illinois. When the crops are coming in it is beautiful. Small towns and old barns galore. When you are tired of the flatlands find a river. The Kankakee, Illinois, Mississippi and many others have great roads along side. (Oh, and it is handy cause I live here)

Ron Walker, 53, Diamond, FLHRC, XR400R

Anywhere along or near the HWY 101 corridor north of San Francisco. Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino and Humboldt Counties in particular. The riding up here is so awesome, magazine articles frequently feature rides right in our own backyard!

Chris Daniels, 48, Santa Rosa, CA, Aprilia, BMW, Ducatis & Honda

I love New Hampshire!! From my house the beautiful White mountains are one hour away. The coast is 10 miles, Massacussettes 14 miles, Maine 5 miles, Vermont 80 miles, all country roads or highway if I need to get ther in a hurry. We even have Laconia Bike Week!! Check it out!!

Jean Psyhos, 55, Stratham, NH, 2001 Vulcan Kawasaki 1500

N GA, WEST TENN,eastern N.C. Deals Gap, (aka THE DRAGON) Smokie Mtns. I've been on the west coast, that is some pretty riding, Southern Calif. But I have to say N.C. and that area is the most beautiful and FUN. Just ride careful, and enjoy. That is where I have had the most fun in the saddle ALLDAY.

Golly good ole England the place to be. I love a good ride through the country side to my favorite pub for a spot of tea and some tasty crumpits. I don't like helmets, i much prefer my tophat. Long live the king...!

Kanab, Utah is billed as the "Greatest Earth on Show" and is within an hour of three National Parks. Zion NP is my favorite for vistas, roads and weather.

Lenny Domyan, 61, Kanab, UT, 2007 FLSTC

West Virgina is Almost Heaven of course. Those boys know how to build some great roads for motorcyclists. On RT 50 from Clarksburg to the MD line on a couple of turn I passed my own tailight. On one turn I think I passed it twice or was that 3 times.

Mike Calhoun, 53, Cumberland, MD, Yamaha Venture

Upper east Tennessee, we've got the ideal climate, not too hot or cold most of the year. Roan Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway, smokey mtns. hwy 421, 321, 129 are great roads. You can be in Canada or key west via scenic roads in one long riding day. Coal fields with rustic roads are nearby. Lots of lakes to meander around.

To me the coolest place in the world would be Robbinsville, NC. This is a motorcyclist's heaven with all the twisty roads through the mountains and rivers. Sport bike or cruiser, this is a place you could ride for weeks and not get bored.

Southern Germany. Well maintained roads that don't have a straight line longer than 1/2 mile. Alps within a short distance. A culture that respects motorcycling. And three hour dinners where the waiters don't try to push the check on you to get you out the door.

I didn't know it at the time that the best place to live was on my parent's farm in Hazen, ND. I had over 1800 acres of the best hills and trails to ride in with no waiting. I would step out of our house, onto my bike and ride all day. My brother and I would spend the entire day on our bikes. I still go home to ride and now it is with my son who has also grown to love riding.

Dwight Albers, 47, Coon Rapids, RM 250, GSXR, 600 RM85

Believe it or not.. Minnesota! Although seasonal, there's nowhere with more of a variety of scenic rides and varying landscapes. And don't forget those lakes too! As a resident and seasonal motorcyclist for some 30 years, putting the bike(s) away for the winter only to experience the thrill of another new riding season also make it the best place to live & ride!

Jeff Sandberg, 57, St. Paul, MN, Kawasaki Nomad 1500

I've been fortunate enough to ride many great roads in different regions of our great country. First among the best are those in the Smokie Mountains -- go out my driveway and turn right and they are all there for the day, the week, or a month of good time riding.

Spain. Mountains! There are too many to mention. They even have a festival on the second weekend of January where people from many countries come to enjoy riding in the cold. It is called "Pingüinos" (Penguins) and it is the craziest of times. With the support of the National Police and the towns and cities where it takes place. Google the "Turismoto" and check out the videos of the past several years. I'm packing my bike for next year!

The south eastern United States is in my opinion the best place to be a motorcyclist. Trail, street and track, it's all there and with weather to allow year round riding. When I lived my wife and I did not own a car until we started a family and we averaged 20,000 miles a year in daily commuting and casual riding. I am pretty partial to the southeast US. We have lots and lots of great mountain roads that are challenging and/or scenic. We have a moderate climate that usually allows us to ride all year. I've lived here for over 30 years and still am finding new roads, and I ride 20 to 30K miles each year. What more could you want? Locally we have a strong vintage club and interest. That feeds my enjoyment of the old iron. And it's less than 8 hours to Vintage Days at Mid-Ohio and 5 hours to Barber.

ooh...this is easy...live where i live! we're within a few sweet riding hours of: * 2 volcanoes (hiway 32 and 36) * gold country (hiway 49) * lake tahoe (hiway 70) * coastal range * fort bragg/mendocino * locally, we ride thru fields of rice and almond/peach orchards, and rolling hills. lots of lupines and poppies right now. i ride every month of the year! yeah, it's crazy california, but it's worth it!
