2009 AMA Congress Competition Proposal

Proposal:

Motorcycle - (except sidecar) a two-wheeled vehicle receiving power to one or both wheels from a single motorcycle engine. The minimum wheelbase is 51 inches; minimum maximum rear wheel is 16 inches.

2010

Reason for proposal:

The introduction of the Christini motorcycle has made this definition obsolete.  We reviewed the performance of the Christini in National Enduro and EnduroCross this season and our feeling is that it does not offer a significant performance advantage in competition situations.

It should be allowed to compete in all classes and if it does come to a point where it has a definite advantage we can create a separate two-wheel drive class.  The FIM allows the two-wheel drive motorcycle to compete directly with single wheel drive motorcycles in Enduro competition.
