Advisory Committee:
Motocross Committee
Chapter: 1
Section: D
Paragraph: 1
Page: 22
Proposal Number: 28
Submitted by: Jeff M Cernic
District: 5
Congress Decision: Rejected
Proposal:
D Flags Change to read: 3. i. Stationary Yellow Flag: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation on or near the racetrack. Passing is allowed. Riders must exercise caution. ii. Waving Yellow Flag: Indicates serious hazard on or near the racetrack. Passing is allowed. Riders must proceed with extreme caution. Failure to do so: The rider may be docked or disqualified.
Reason for proposal:
They way our current yellow flag rule is we turn every caution flagmen into referee''s and this causes nothing but problems at the racetrack. Double Jumps or blind sections the flagmen should only have a red cross flag, this way he or she will not have to make a desision when a accident happens. This rule has been used by AMA Pro Racing, MX Sports at Loretta Lynns and also has been in use at District 5 & PAMX Events with the blessing of the AMA MX Manager for the last 4 years.
